Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac. Use the Mail app to send, receive, and manage email for all of your email accounts in one location. Simply add the accounts—such as iCloud, Exchange, Google, school, work, or other—you want to use in Mail. You can resolve this by deleting these problematic messages. Damaged messages may cause the Mail app to crash when you scroll through messages to view them. Here is how: Press and hold the Shift key. While pressing the Shift key, open the Mail app. When you open the Mail app while pressing the Shift key, Mail will open without any message selected. Hi, I have an iMac running OS X v. 10.5.6 and do not want to go through the Mail app for my e-mail. I never opened the program on my own, but the app keeps opening on its own and asking for me to set it up. I tried to set it to manual opening, but it would still pop up on a daily basis. Go to the Uninstaller menu and wait for the scanning process to finish. Now locate the Mac Mail app. Open the OS X Apps submenu and choose Sort by Name in the field above the list of apps – this will make the search easier. Find the Mail icon, check the white box next to it, and click Remove. Now you know how to remove Mail.

I use Mac Mail app. I have tried out the junk mail filtering but have decided to turn it off in the preferences. However I was surprised to see that the Junk Folder is still displayed in the mailbox list. The folder is empty (I've deleted all the emails within it) but I am not able to delete the folder/mailbox (from the Mailbox dropdown). How can I remove this unnecassary empty mailbox? I've restarted my Mac and tried dragging it out of the mailbox list, I've tried selecting it and hitting the delete key, I've tried selecting it with the ctrl key and I've tried deleting it from the Mailbox dropdown.
